Boyne Valley Food Series - August Events

The Boyne Valley Food Series is a summer long series of events which aims to highlight Meath and Louth's rich selection of artisan producers, small food businesses and restaurants over five months from May till September. So far I have attended the BrĂș Brewery Tour, Sheridan's Food Festival, Taste of Meath, the Irish Maritime Festival and the Meath Food Safari. Sunday saw the boyfriend and I head to Girley Bog for a foraging session with Meath Eco Tours. It was pouring out of the heavens but it was a great informative morning and I can't wait to visit the bog again on a sunnier day!

August sees the return of BBQs at the Forge and three fabulous foodie feasts including the Long Table Harvest Feast, Dining Back in Time and La Tomatina Tomato Festival. There is also the opportunity to learn how to look after chickens at Maperath Farm or help celebrate the Irish Pig by sampling many pork products at Sheridan's Cheesemongers. To top it all off The Central in Navan is holding Meath's first Gourmet Craft Beer Festival. This will run over seven days but the event will culminate with a big Backyard Beer Bazaar on Saturday 16th.

Have a great August and enjoy the summer before the madness of September hits again!
